The Spider's Dance and more

I watched the spiders spin and dance,
To build the web that holds my dream...

...that or they really wanted to catch some food.

I thought that having a clone would help me get ahead in life...

...but all he did was eat my food and watch tv.

clones make me sad :(

The other birds kept their distance from Derek, because there was something different about him...

...he smelled like poop.

Its hard to share one umbrella and not get wet. So I watched her run for cover as I stayed dry.

Some very very cool photos this morning....!
I saw wth wonder, mouth agog...that Serg had posted another blog....
You are sooo eclectic! Good stuff. But make the clone stop eating stuff in bed. Ew! Crumbs!
Have you opened all the snacks and sampled them in the box we sent you? ;-)
Thank you for making my morning smile.
xo.

These photo's are great Serge! Are they recent?
1) I really enjoy high-contrasty-esque stuff, so these were fun to look at... like the spiders; although I think there's too much polarity--black space vs white.. unless that's the effect you were going for. Maybe focused more on the spiders.. cause the slow shutter effect on them are so interesting!
2) The clone pic is fun! Coca Cola: the sweet nectar of life... like your choice in beverages.
3) Poor Derek! HahahAHahHa, I would've thought the same thing if i was looking at them up there! This picture is so funny! Nature has a great sense of humor.
4) I like it! Street-photography-like. Hmmm-- Wouldn't give her your umbrella, eh? Then took it one step further and took a picture of her running for cover as you stayed nice and dry! haha, so hilarious.
5) Best captions ever!

Derek is different b/c Derek has a name....

Clones...not all they cracked up to be...

Umbrellas are highly over-rated...

As for the spiders, I think we both know someone who would be screaming to even look at that particular photo. I did notice something--same spider, was it not?

Anyway, the clone photo gave me a good laugh this morning. As long as the lazy thing didn't get into the care package!! And tell me, does Xander miss Ralph?? LOL

Have a good one! Debs

Love those photos! I get out of my two hour photography class and log on to find that you've uploaded some new ones, which are great!

I was thinking maybe a clone would be nice, but after seeing your photo and the fact that it eats all the food, I decided against it.

Cool photos! Love the spiders, although I do not enjoy them. Clones just end up attacking you anyway, Clyde needs to take a bath, and someone doesn't know the true meaning of sacrifice. Give the poor girl your damn umbrella.

Have a great week and looking forward to new pictures and laughs soon!

Serg! Amazing photos! I check your blog on a daily ritual to see what photos will be posted next. Keep up your good work with photography as well as the show!

Its a really cool photo.. juuust not for me. ;]
Your clone is lazy, better lock the food up. Derek smells really bad and I can smell him from here...

and if there's one umbrella, and its mine. It STAYS mine.

thanks for making me smile!

The umbrella comment was hilarious!!! I had to laugh so hard.

Love the spider picture. Isn't it awesome to watch these tiny little buggers build their web?

1. spiders are creepy and the fact that they look like they're glowing in the picture make me think of radioactive spiders. if you got bitten maybe you'll be the next spiderman?

2. ever seen multiplicity? your clone reminds me of the personalities of michael keaton...only it's the faces of sergey

3. birds are also creepy--have you ever seen hitchcock's the birds? and those four look like the beginning of the end...

4. she needs to learn to play in the rain. 'nough said.

--and your commentary = hilarious! thanks for making my day a little bit better :)

Lin and Debs,

Thank you so much for the package. I just picked it up this morning. Xander appreciates the healthy snack that he got as well.

Proved to be a great distraction at he PRS office.

Thanks again,
Serg

ya know your commentary would be a really unique way to show work at a gallery. ya know just to throw people off. it's always nice to see people reactions to things. :)

i love the birds photo the best because although i'm terrified of birds...it just in it's own amazing way is beautiful. everything feels balanced to me.

awesome pics Serg.....beside the spider one....that sorta just freaked me out.
but anyways...yes the photos would not be complete without your commentary!

So happy Xander pupasaurus liked the snack. Our Roxy Soxy carries hers around and chews on it for days...and she is a big dog...hmmm...
Nice to hear from you. Rock on.

Serg (aka White Russian),

The Spiders: Impressive composition and contrast (did you rehearse the spiders?)

The Clone: Remember, there is nothing better than the original.

The Birds: Been there, done that.

The Umbrella: Love the sentiment!

Keep it up.

Those spiders give me the creeps! And the least your clone could do is fix your closet door!

Very funny...made me smile :) Hope you are having fun!

The spiders were really cool. I don't dislike spiders, in fact I had a spider friend during the summer and my friends killed her on my birthday. I was horrified.

I wish I had a clone... I think when the start cloning people I will let myself be cloned because the world would be so much better with 2 of me. My mom took supplements to make me a twin.. but i just came out.. twice as impressive.

I love the bird picture!!! I got bit by a parrot this week and honestly.. it just made me like bird even more. They have sharp beaks and black tongues!?! And they like to make out with your hand and then sneak attack you. The picture is very symmetrical in an odd way and I appreciate symmetry.

Perhaps you need to spend more time running in the rain.

I thought that this was so cute and I thought I'd share it with all you photographers. It's unrealistic but it almost made me cry!

Very lovely pictures. I must say I love coming here to see if you have posted any more.
But I must ask …….
1)How do you know Derek smelled like poop?
2)Of all things to do you had to clone yourself. Don’t you know that cloning always ends up on a bad note??? lol
3)Why did you not give the girl your umbrella??? Were you worried your camera would get wet??
And you have a well done spider picture. But I cant comment on it cause spiders kind of scare me.

Have a nice Day!!
Mari ^_^

Oh my Gosh! I am definately in love with your "clone" picture. How do you do that??? It's crazy, but amazing.

As for the other pictures, they amazed me, as always. The spider one actually gave me the chills ;D

Great Job! ;)

I have got to learn not to ramble.

Love the photos.

Wow, I've looked at the photos that you have posted and they are awesome. You are very good at what you do. Keep up the great work. I think you are a fabulous photographer.

Your cloning picture REALLY reminds me of the show The Young Ones.. not sure you've ever seen that, but it's hilarious; you should look it up ^_^
"Ay Vyv, you ever hear of cloning?"
".... No!"
"Be willing to swear on that?"
"Yeah, sure... BIG JOBS"

XD

I'll take your clone off your hands if you want, though ;)

Anonymous said...

lol wow that Clone has really made itself at home huh? Well you have convinced me that getting a clone of my own would just not be worth it :P

Liked your new photos and btw your desk looks exactly like mine when I'm studying. Loaded with to many books and not enough room :)

really sergey, poop? the last one is by far my favorite, your little caption gives it a great mood. it reminds me of this site i used to love, http://www.asofterworld.com/index.php. i don't read them anymore, but some of their earlier ones were fantastic.

You are a very foxy Russian.:)

Anonymous said...

hey most of your photos are really stupid and pointless. a ten year old take that better then you. you waste your money on cameras that are a total rip off when you can take just as a good as photo with a phone camera. sorry but your masterpiece of a chair covered in snow and half hidden in darkness will never replace the mona lisa. a five year old could draw a picture with crayons and get more money than your shitty photography.

Anonymous said...

then why did you come to his blog? and really not showing you name while criticizing is low

Anonymous said...

Whoa....I'm with Becca on that one...if you don;t like it then just simply do not come here to look at his stuff.

Anyway, Serg, next Friday you turn a whole year older. Any big plans or will you be out investigating?

These are really great images. For the Spider pic, did you use a photo of a real arachnid or did you use another photomanipulation technique? Just curious because it makes a really neat effect!

I'm sorry Anonymous doesn't like your work. My guess is he/she is like the lone bird in the photo.

Poop indeed!

First things first...HAPPY BIRTHDAY SERGEY!

and I'm sure that you don't, but don't take this anonymous person seriously. some of the "logic" made me giggle. first of all, you can't compare a painting to a photograph. second, you get awesome cameras sent TO you. and third, i bet that he/she is jealous.

We're all waiting for an update on this blog of yours! So party it up tonight, but sometime in the near future, please?

You know... 'Derek' has been my absolute favorite since I first saw it. I want to buy it to add to my 'collection of perfection', but now that I've read Derek's story, the photograph doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside anymore. It makes me feel kind of... well, poopy.

Damnit, Serg! :)
