First Photo Story

Hello everyone...

So one of the things that I need to do for my site is to add to the photo story section. This will be one of the first ones I add on there. The idea is to narrate some short stories and add various photographs I have taken as visual aid. I also need to write the blasted things, so I choose this one as it was a bit easier, and fun to go down memory lane. I am still learning about video compression, so hopefully the photos don't look that bad. But let me know how you like this and if I should continue with playing with creating more photo video sets.

Enjoy the weekend folks

Take a deep breath. The breeze from the ocean and the heat from the sun mesh together in perfect cohesion. Its time to let go...the worries, the stress, the shackles of reality. You can do it; let the universe guide your soul and be adventurous. What will you dare yourself to do?

Till Sunday, my dear readers...enjoy your Friday and may your weekend be zombie free....or zombie full, if you need that extra bit of excitement in your life.

Xander in the Snow

We had quite the snowfall recently and it provided a good chance to take some photos on one of Xander's walks.

Frontier Photographer - II

Date: 5/24/00

I picked up an interesting book at the annual book fair today: "The Prophet," by Kahlil Gibran. Back in college, poetry classes and I didn't get along... I remember the professor pulling me aside, "I should have failed you" she told me. I guess I was able to charm my way through. I miss those days. But back to the book...

"Your hearts know in silence the secrets of the days and the nights.
But your ears thirst for the sound of your heart's knowledge.
Say not, 'I have found the truth,' but rather, "I have found a truth.'
Say not, 'I have found the path of the soul." Say rather, "I have met the
soul walking upon my path."
For the soul walks upon all paths."

I grabbed my old OM-1 and took a walk with it last night; had to get out of the house and figured I could snap some photos with old film I had laying around. When I was in the darkroom today, I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched. I gotta get that out of my head...I swear my mind plays these stupid tricks on me....strange though, the last photo came out different. Must be a light leak or something.

Photos taken last night:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If that's a light leak why did the other photos come out fine? I need to investigate this further...

Frontier Photographer - I

Date: Unknown (Date has been scratched off)

I sometimes looked back at my old scribbles...ideas, is what I used to call
them back then, but things changed. Damn it, I feel like I'm forcing myself to type sometimes...i don't
want to and, i don't know
what to, merge with one another and really make it
hard for me to
put my thoughts on paper.

...i had the dream again...

dream? fucking nightmare more like it, its been reoccurring for so
long I can't help but start
believing its a memory...

its strange...sometimes i dream in photographs, but lately the same image has been popping into my head every night. where am i? what's causing that light? and who is that person?

Respectfully yours,
The Frontier Photographer

Psychic Hat

We take a step back from the serious this week and dive deep into the inner workings of the psychic. How does the psychic receive their information? Where does it come from? The first time I met with Chip I though it was the hat. We took Chip to the cemetery across from the house to see if there was any relation between the haunting at home and the cemetery. It was rather chilly, almost as if the spirits came out to join us; course it being January didn't help either. I took a couple of photographs when all of a sudden Chip was picking up on something and quickly snapped this photo. It was clear that he was getting a reading as the flaps on his hat rose up. It was as if he was tuning in to pick up the right frequency, like you would with a radio. To this day, it's still a mystery as to how and why psychics work the way they do, but on that day....it had to be the hat.

Enjoy your week and remember to smile,
Serg

Seeds of Hope

It was January 27th. Our minds were trying to wrap around what we were getting ourselves into. How does one prepare to break through the door that opens up to the abyss, the chaos, the darkness. I can't help but chuckle because, even those three words don't really describe what's on the other side all to well. Father Bob joined us for investigation that will continue to live within our souls. There was an aura over Father Bob as he went from room to room; blessing the home. Standing in the master bedroom I looked over at Father Bob as prayed over the bed. The lamp behind him cast a perfect silhouette. As if an armor of light protected him. It was at that moment that I couldn't help but think of us as engineers. Diving into the darkness we were trying to plant the seeds of hope.

Thank you for your time,

The Ladder

The darkness fell upon the church; like a ritual. Each evening the shadows woke up from their slumber. It was their world at night. Free to move around, they ruled the church. But there was an area that had no bonds with the darkness. Deep within, lay a room with a ladder; surrounded by blackness. There was something special about this ladder, it was lit up by a mysterious source; a sign of hope, a choice.

The steps ascended towards the light, each level represented a new degree of spiritual awareness. But, I say again, the ladder was a choice. You decide how far you want to climb.

Street Photos and Politics

So yesterday, I took a walk through the streets of SC...thinking; thinking that you know what, Universe, you decide what I should come across my street journey. And so it did. I want to share a piece of my journey with you all. Its a little political. Probably because of a story I read that is still etched in my head. (LINK) I swear it feels like someone stabbed my brain with a fork.

I saw a group of people protesting the war, advocating peace, and requesting troops to be pulled out, so I decided this would be a good start towards photojournalism. I approached two protesters who've been doing this for about 5 years. "Why? Why are you doing this?" Truth is, this is pretty much a repeat. That is, this is Vietnam just tweaked a little differently. And now we are falling into another cycle. Another cycle of where the weak are taken for fools. Where those who have power think they can play the same ol' game and come out on top.

But, there is one problem for those who think that everything will remain the same: change is the only constant. The world evolves and people, well, they follow suit.

I asked them if they thought things were getting better...after all they had witnessed decades go by...so I asked, is there hope? They remained silent, but they remained standing. Standing, because there is hope; hope that things will change. It's a strange feeling to comprehend. A sensation that there will a change in world. You aren't sure which way it will go, but between doing nothing at all, you can at least hope it will go for the best.

Who knows, maybe one day I can open up the paper and not see a spiritual person, praying that our President dies. Blah...just writing that sentence left a dirty sensation in my mouth. I am gonna go brush my teeth folks; till next time...

Hope for the best in others,
Serg

Facebook Photo

Hey all,

Seeing as how we are doing two cases back to back, I wanted to at least stop by here and give you, my fellow blog readers, a premiere of my facebook photo album.

Here is something written by, Kahlil Gibran, from The Prophet.

"I cannot teach you how to pray in words.
God listens not to your words save when He Himself utters them through your lips.
And I cannot teach you the prayer of the seas and the forests and the mountains.
But you who are born of the mountains and the forests and the seas can find their prayer in your heart,
And if you but listen in the stillness of the night you shall hear them saying in silence,
"Our God, who art our winged self, it is thy will in us that willeth."

Starring into the ocean, I couldn't help but feel a oneness with world.

I have yet to see a ghost...

... so I decided to paint one with light.

There are images I took with a couple of light tools. It is a technique that I am a huge fan of. It's called painting with light photography. I have talked about it in previous blogs, so I thought I would share some of the things I have painted...with light. I think what makes this image so striking is that it has not been photoshopped or created from any sort of computer graphics.

Its too late to give this a title

Song: Eddie Vedder- Society

post post

Here are two photos from my historical collection. I only collect photos at their highest digital quality. Why? I don't know... maybe it brings me back to my days as a child when I was collecting marvel cards and comics. I think the same goes for the photo above. I remember loving legos as kid. After collecting and building several sets, I would take everything apart, put all my lego pieces in one pile, and just sit there and see what my mind would come up with.

I recall constructing a lego robot that resembled Optimus Prime, although I never did watch Transformers, I think the real concept came from watching Short Circuit. I would rather take Johnny 5 over Optimus any day. Prime has a personality of a sloth.

Now, as an adult, I can't really get away with tinkering with legos, instead I am drawn to household objects. And instead of simply snapping my pieces together, I now utilize more grown up things like, soldering irons, drills, electric saws and blow torches. I raise my red bull as a toast, "Here's to not losing any appendages."

Till next time,
Serg

Part Two of Quincy

So here guys go; the final set. In fact it kinda ties with the fact that we just wrapped our final episode for the season. Tomorrow we fly to back to lovely State College...35 degrees and snowing. Well its ok. I am sure I'll get to see the sun sooner or later.

Its rather unbelievable that we are finished. I feel relieved, yet a little empty. Where to go from here? What to do with the magnitude of time that I just flushed back into my life. There obviously a bunch of little things that must be done... taxes, yuck. I remember watching some conspiracy videos that told me I don't have to pay any taxes. But I don't think I am capable of fighting off the gov't just yet. One day.

Well folks, we're off to the airport. Flight leaves tomorrow at 6AM.

Just as the void comes into my life, I am sure it will be filled right back up in blink of an eye.

I have my little Horoscope experiment bout 70% completed. So I will share that little bag of fun with you guys this week.

Some photos I thought I would share

Hey Everyone,

I was browsing through some of my photographs and stumbled upon some that I thought I would share with you all.

Last week a very powerful two part episode aired where we had to revisit a special investigation. Here are some photos from that case. I have 13 photos that I would like to share with you guys. Here is a set of the first six photos.

More to come soon.
