Change: We can believe in.

So how did you all feel last night?

Its amazing how yesterday had such an important impact on our lives. How will your life be effected?

By working together we can do so much. But where do we start? It starts... with you. Yep, that one person who thinks they can.  As we count down the days till the inaguration what will you do? Will you loathe the results and stew in negativity, or wait and grow stale? Or, will you start to do? To make yourself a better person and make this world a better place?

Who can I become?
There is a change unfolding,
Who can we become?

Perhaps it is time we start to part ways from an individualistic idealogy. Forget the me, myself's and I and start to consider the us, together and we. What will happen when we start to work together? What will happen when we start to do something positive?

This is the change that I believe in.

This is what I got from Obama. What did you?

The world felt a little less weighty once Obama stepped on that stage for his victory speech last night. Even as a Canadian I couldn’t hold back the tears of joy. I’ve been inspired by seeing Americans take ownership of change as a large extended family. Obama pointed the way, but the people had to choose to begin the journey together. It’s nice to see that people can still join together for positivity rather than as a reaction to sorrow.

Be proud! You certainly deserve it.

I was not happy with the election results...But I decided that its not worth getting mad or being negative. I am going to wait and see if something good may come of this..I am willing to give a fair chance.
and I liked what you said..if we all stick it out together...hopefully it will be better.
and definitley people complaining about it so much makes it worse. ;P

Like it says at the end of our Pledge Of Allegiance to the Flag, One nation. I believe we can be one nation if we just band together so. What do you all think?

While I'm not happy about Obama winning, and I totally am offended by the tiny dancer who posted basically saying people unhappy with Obama are racist, I agree totally with what you are saying about working together. I am afraid that having one party in control of all the government right now will not lead to this. I hope it can work that way though.

i agree with the person above me.
i was actually disappointed mccain did not pull through, but obama's speach gave me hope for our country. most of the ignorant people are the ones labeling the people who didn't vote obama "racist". in most cases, it has absolutely nothing to do with his nationality. like my family, i would (if i could have voted) have taken the republican ticket. because i agree with mccains beliefs. but i really have faith in obama/biden. seeing how we really need a change.. but to sum it up; i completely agree with everything you said sergey, if we come together, a positive change will unfold! ;)

One country, one nation, many beliefs...but these beliefs can all be used for the good, for the greatness of our people and our hopes. Obama can lead the way and we can either follow or sit back on our hands and do nothing. We instead of me. I like that outlook.
Peace, Serg, and congrats on voting. (btw, the post will say anonymous, but this is lin...)

I go to certain forums (like PRS's) or I just look at Ryan's page, and I see some people being so rude and nasty over Obama's win. They say such harsh things, and I have no idea what they are even basing their arrogance on. In every election there will be winner and there will be losers, that happens to be life. But I agree with what Christine said, that the world felt less weighty with this particular win. Serg, the day after dawned optimistic, I felt so much better about certain issues and problems. What did I get from Obama? that we need to pull together and we all need to cooperate. We need to understand that he will not pull off miracles in a week or a month or maybe even one term, but it will be a start. And that is what we need now!

Hey, to that girl who says she doesn't believe in what I said about people being racist. I never said everyone who didn't vote for obama was racist I said some of the people in my state and town are because of what they have been sayin. So that lady whoever the hell she was needs to learn how to pay attention,I'm from the deep south and what people are sayin bothers me cuz they are sayin the world is going to end now and the guys are gettin fiered up about it and wantin to go to war and sayin we should just bomb everybody and someone said something about assination the pres. so for that lady that is tryin to start stuff...learn how to read before you go passing judgements and you can keep your snarky comments to yourself cuz you don't know whats goin on down here! So yeah it does worry me and yes there aer racist people from where I'm from and they are proud of it but I'm not sayin everyone is racist.

I never said or meant that people who didn't vote obama are racist,I really don't care who anyone votes for,its not my buisness, I was tryin to say a lot of people down here openly don't like him cuz he's black. I've heard people down here holler out white power and throw up hitler signs in pubilic and they don't care if they offend anyone. Thats why I said some people are being racist about it. Sorry if you missunderstood me,but you didn't have to be so hateful about it.

The world is cheering on the US of A for the choice that it made. The right choice. A choice for change and after all that Bush has done to his country and it's people this change is much needed.

Sadly though the change is slow. With Prop 8 passing yesterday it shows that much more change is needed but hopefully that will happen and I am pretty sure myself that it will!

G' for you America! I know we Canadians salute ya! :)

"Progress is a nice word, but change is its motivator. And change has its enemies." ~~ Robert F. Kennedy.

I was on the roof of Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh when the election was called. The reaction of the Pitt students and Oakland residents was nothing short of spectacular. There were crowds marching down Forbes Ave chanting "YES WE CAN". No one got out of line...no one stole or broke anything. It was an image of hope and unity that I will not soon forget. My only regret is that my DSLR was in the aircraft at Allegheny County Airport so the images will remain in my head.

now, we move forward.

Congrats On voting for the first time. I did that The last presidential Election doesn't it just feel awesome?

I Felt Hope when i listened to his speech that maybe he could be the one to reach across the board and unite the red and blue and maybe for once get Everyone To work together and put their personal agendas away for a bit and start thinking about the entire country first... here's to hearing more We's And Us's This year...

What did I get from Obama? Well I do not like what he stands for and all of the things that he wants for the country. I don't like the fact that he wants abortion because that is basically equal to murder. But I also didn't like McCain either. I thought that they were both poor choices in president. I wish that Ron Paul would become president. The only somewhat bad thing that he wanted was to legalize marijuana. But I wouldn't mind if it was legalized for medical purposes. But that was what he wanted to do. I think that it is legalized in Massachusetts. But anyway sorry for getting off topic, that happens a lot with me(I have terrible A.D.D.) but congrats on voting for the first time. That must of been exciting!

"Ask not what your Country can do for you, but what you can do for your County." - JFK

I just hope that with the new president-elect this doesn't get switched around and I truly hope that people really know who they voted for. These are scary times, and we can only pray for them to get better.

Ok so the last post was supposed to say "Ask not what your Country can do for you, but what you can do for your Country."

(that's what I get for not proofing before I post)

Although this country needs someone like Obama, I just hope that he actually WILL make the changes that he has promised. If he can do this, then the me, myself, and I will stop and I agree, we all need to start thinking about how to help others. If we did that, the world would be a better place.

Im not happy with any of the presidential candidates, but Obama does have drive to better this country. I wish to see his plans in action before I start praising his name. "Change : We can believe in." When I see it, Ill believe it. Sorry, but all the misfortunes this country has suffered has made my trust factor go waaaayy down. Obama will have to show us all what hes made of.
