I live in downtown Madison and have been down to the protests almost everyday. This Saturday it reached 100,000 people, it's crazy. The feeling there is just a sense of togetherness, everyone fighting for a shared cause and for each other. Completely peaceful. The idea that Walker thought of putting 'agitators' in with good people including small children holding up 'i love my teacher' signs and elderly people holding signs with their walkers, is ridiculous. More ridiculous is the fact that Walker still ignores thousands of people that he is supposed to represent.

My family and friends will personally be affected by this bill. It's a horrible thing and it's sad people are fighting for rights that shouldn't even be up for discussion.

I could rant about this more in great length but I will spare you. And by way, the name koch is pronounced 'coke'. :)

As a side note, I'd just like to mention that I love your photographs. I'm usually pretty picky when it comes to photographers, but yours I really like. :)

Actually, Walker was interviewed on Meet the Press on Sunday. He admitted that someone had brought up the idea but insisted that it was never a plan and that it was never agreed to.

Oh, and the reason this came up in the budget talk is because the union workers don't pay for their own healthcare; the state (taxpayers) do.

He only turned down the idea because he was afraid of it coming back to him. And unions DO pay for their health care. They said they are willing to pay more and make concessions to help but want their rights to be left alone. Walker has refused. Hence the protesting.

They have us locked out of the Capitol now too. A PUBLIC building. Bolted windows and everything.

Public-Employee Unions: Facts, Figures, History and MPR News. I think there are some great arguments for both sides via the latter.
