Back at Home

Hey everyone,

Sorry I have been MIA, but I went back to NYC to visit my family friends. Last night I got to catch Nightwish playing at the Nokia Theater in Times Square. Tickets were pretty cheap for the venue so I would have been foolish not go. If you haven't heard of Nightwish, they are heavy metal fuzed with opera fuzed with celtic rhythms. It was pretty damn sweet.

Tonight I am catching Dane Cook. Now I know that there is some talk about Dane Cook and his material. Some say that he stole some material from other comics, some say he is not that funny. All I know is I listened to his last album and it made me laugh. All this drama and gossip doesn't really faze me. I listen to comedy to laugh.

But we shall see how his show will do. And if he did the things that people say he did, I am sure karma will get him back. After all, he did star in that awfully mediocre, "Employee of the Month" movie, and isn't punishment enough.

Hope everyone had great weekend.

happy you had some time to catch up with doing fun stuff with family and friends!!! There never is enough time to do that, or so it seems when you have to be out on the road and filming. As for Dane, he is a funny guy, and had to put up with Jessica Simpson for filming purposes. Dunno if he steals material, but that must have been torture to have to listen to that voice day. after. day. after. day.
Rock on, Serg!

Sounds like a fun weekend Serge, I love live entertainment, it always makes me feel....alive I guess. Nightwish sounds interesting and right up my alley. If your into metal you should check out Celtic Frost. Very old school metal and very cool indeed. Have a great week! Heather

I'm glad you were finally able to take a nice break and visit with family and friends since everyone needs time like that!

Random aside in regards to your photography:

If you're looking for a place where you can post your work and have people suggest ways to improve it, or offer new tips and techniques and stuff, and overall has a really great community (with a few drama type exceptions) its called www.deviantart.com

lol totally not meant as a plug I just know I found it really helpful to get opinions form people who I never meant.

Anyways hope you had a great weekend and have a great week too!

I saw Dane Cook's show. He does a lot of improve with the audition so he's obviously a funny guy, and his vlogs are hilarious as well, so whether or not he stole other people's joke doesn't mean he isn't talented.

I got to catch Flight of the Concords this week in Chicago which was also really funny. I'm happy I went even though swine flu had just hit Chicago and everyone was freaking out.

I had a good weekend. I spent part of the time looking for a new dog since I put two dogs down last year. It was tough, I went to visit a few shelters and foster homes but didn't get a spark with any of them. I met one dog who looked like my other dog but my expectations where to high since she was the best dog ever, and it just wasn't right. Anyways, I hoped you enjoyed NYC, I have a love/hate relationship with the city. It's a different story every time I go.

Good for you on being able to go back to your stompin ground for awhile!!

And Dane Cook is amazing. He is this generations George Carlin. I haven't heard that he stole his material...hopefully this is just a dirty rumor. But, like you said, people listen to comedy to laugh. If the original wasn't funny, and he can turn it into something funny...more power to him I guess.

Sounds like your weekend has been amazing! Enjoy your time with your family and friends...as I'm sure your free time is hard to comme by.

I love Dane Cook! So I completely agree with your logic...are you watching the new one or Vicious Circle? Because VC is hilarious! I'm glad you go to go home and that concert does sound pretty sweet. Thanks for the update! ^_^

eh, Dane Cook is hit or miss for me...probably because some of this movies aren't that great. Another good comedian is Bo Burnham--he's on YouTube and he's hilarious.

Have a great week!

I've never gotten to see Nightwish live, I hear they put on a good show. I was rather disappointed at their new album. The last singer they had was much better in my opinion.

I much prefer Carlos Mencia over Dane cook.
