Photographs from Blind Photographers

Truly spectacular and inspiring, that I thought I should share this link with you guys.

http://www.time.com/time/photogallery/0,29307,1897093,00.html

Other then that, I am putting up some touches on the field trip to Trout Lake, Washington this week and continuing putting together portfolios for my website.

Just,
Serg

Those photos were just amazing and the artists even more so! I'm still trying to wrap my mind around them. Thanks for sharing the site and you're right. They are definitely inspire me to try and see beyond vision.

Just...amazing....the photos touched my heart as well as inspired me. The one with the photographer's autistic son was...joyful. Thank you for the inspiration in my ordinary and somewhat hockey crazy world.
Safe travels and much fun to you this weekend.
xo.

That was absolutely spectacular! I am truly touched beyond words. I've always envied the abilities of a photographer. As a painter I am allowed to project things as I wish them to be seen, as a photographer all you have is techniques but the outcome is still raw.
I'm definitely inspired by that! Thank you for sharing! I hope you enjoy your field trip this weekend.

I was truly touched by this artist:

Gerardo Nigenda,
Entre lo invisible y lo tangible, llegando a la homeostasis emocional
Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, the 42-year-old Nigenda calls his images "Fotos cruzados," or "intersecting photographs." As he shoots, he stays aware of sounds, memories, and other sensations. Then he uses a Braille writer to punch texts expressing those the things he felt directly into the photo. The work invokes an elegant double blindness: Nigenda needs a sighted person to describe the photo, but the sighted rely on him to read the Braille. The title of this work translates roughly to: "Between the invisible and the tangible, reaching an emotional homeostasis."

It was so moving to me...some don't realize that even though you may have something that people may see as a hinder, there is always something else that you CAN do, that others can't...everyone has something beautiful to offer to the world. :)

Having just been reminded of the ugliness in our world, after reading a headline about a mortar hitting a hospital in Sri Lanka, killing 49....I looked at the photos offered up at the link you posted. Astounding and amazing sound so trite. I've often tried to imagine what it would be like to lose my sight. I sometimes wonder how the blind perceive the world. These photos tell me they may see better than the rest of us. thanks for sharing, you always come up with the coolest stuff, Serg!

What do you think about this Sergey? As I fellow Russian, not actually from Russia, I'm a little bit saddened.

Also, a funny thing happened last night. I was at a party and I was talking to this guy who happened to be named Sergey. And I was like.. Oh i know a guy named Sergey.. and then I paused and I said.. Oh wait, no I don't. He then made a comment about how I was weird. Mind you, I was a lot a bit drunk.

Those are so inspiring! It's amazing to see what they've captured, while still knowing that they don't have the gift of sight like other photographers do. Like lin said, the photograph with the photographer's autistic son is absolutely precious. :)

Besides that, I'm ready to see some more of your photos!

That site was great, very inspirational.
Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there.
It's utterly amazing.

Love it!

Wow... some of those were really cool. I liked the quote by Peter Eckert "If you can't see, it's because your vision is getting in the way."
