When its free....

Day 1

So I have recently posted an ad in the local classifieds, offering my photography services free of charge. Kinda funny because, when I offered my services prior, for a small fee, all I heard were crickets. Yet, not even a day goes by and already I get a response that someone is interested.

I think that I should consider going through with this. Although, technically, I haven't gotten this free job. They would like to see some of my photographs, before I take photos of them. I don't want to come across as a pompous photographer, after all, I am struggling, but I feel I can definitely show them some really good photographs that they would really be impressed with.

...the next day...

I got two more offers. So with these three, I think I should take what the universe has given and see where it takes me. And guess what! You get to live it with me. Help me become a photographer. Be my support. Experience the good and the bad as I try and make it in this field. And learn something about myself along the way...you know it is at this moment that I will end it here. Sit back and really pour my heart in it.

All the best,
Sergey Poberezhny

Ok so I went back and read what I just wrote and I am sorry for putting you through that. I write as good as I speak. And sometimes it would be best if never would have spoken. I hope....for your sake.....that the next blog will be better.

I liked this entry. It showed how much passion you have for photography. Don't worry about how you speak/write, at least it's from the heart, and isn't that what blogging is supposed to be about?

It's a good entry, Serg!
I know you can get this photographer career to become your dream come true.
It will happen.
Everything falls into place in the end.

Unfortunately, being a struggling photographer means you're going to have to bite the bullet and take jobs for no pay.

Hell, I can't even get paid assistant positions.

It's tough man. But good luck! If you're passionate about your craft, it'll show through in your work.

Hey Sergey...was thinking about the title: How about a twist on Photography like Photogsergey? My Jackie laughed but I think it's clever. Say it a few times (I'll wait), see it rolls off your tongue, doesn't it?

Sergey, it's so nice of you to take pics for free or even for cheap! I mean, how many photographers out there can both take the picture AND investigate any "orbs" that show up in them. haha

the last part of the blog, where you went back and reread it..
made me sad..cause what you said to start with was coming from your heart/your soul..
so why change a word of it..
and if you talk any where near as good at you write, then it's from the heart..

I wish I had your strength when I had the chance. I'm older now and your passion is inspiring. I loved photography, but didn't think I was good enough. Now, I scrapbook. Well, looks like you have a few fans already!!!! All the best!
