Wow, I like that. Sad (never though an actual comic/cartoon would be "sad) but very nice. :) I think my personal favorite from Space Avalanche is probably either the one titled "House of Mirrors," or maybe the bar room brawl between the horse and the pig. I don't know if you've seen those, but they're my favorites.
Yep...I guess I found it humorous because often times whenever I am putting something together I usually end up with some pieces that I didn't use. Then...I sit back and hope it doesn't fall apart.
I think I found it sad because of the whole war thing. The idea of war altogether just makes me sad.
But I do see the humor in leaving out one simple thing and it messes up the entire "equation". I've done it far too many times. And yes, in my case, it usually does fall apart. No sitting back hoping it doesn't...because it ALWAYS does.

Okay, I admit that I am confused by this cartoon. Is the joke, "Screw
's loose?" which is why man leads to war on the last panel?
