oh my ears...

Hey Everyone,

Thank you for all the song ideas. With that, I take my trip into the merging your songs with my photography. Makes me feel like some sort of artistic chemist.

John Lennon - "Imagine"
"Desire" by U2
Metallica ~ The UnForgiven
Puscifer - Rev. 22:20 (Dry Martini Mix)
"Can I Stay?" by Ray LaMontagne
"Expo '86" by Death Cab for Cutie
You Know You're Right - Nirvana
Love and some verses by Iron and Wine!

I may have some photos that will go great with the song, but then again I may not. You don't have to do this, but it would help me out, if the people who suggested the song would email me what it is they liked about it.

With that, I take back into office work.
Serg

I can't wait to see what you'll come up with. I like the idea...hope you have a Happy Fourth of July, any plans to celebrate? Tell Heather I am going to try and see No Doubt tonight at Milwaukee's Summerfest. Gosh I can't believe it's been like 10 yrs. since I've seen them! I really hope we are able to get in...have a great weekend Sergey! :-)

  2. Artistic Chemist... yeah, I like that. (muahahaha!) ;D

I’ll share some of my interpretations, but I’m curious to find out how YOU perceive it. :)

I sent an email to your info@sergey email. I’m sorry it's so long, but when it comes to music, I can go on and on forever. lol

  3. My favorite part to "Expo '86" by Death Cab is:

The squeaking of our skin against the steel has gotten worse.
But if i move my place in line i'll lose.
And i have waited, the anticipation's got me glued.

    &

I am waiting for you to flee the scene
As if you held in your hand the smoking gun
And on the floor lay the one you said you loved.
    And it's strange
    They are basically the same
So i don't ask names anymore.

  4. I sent the email to info@sergeypoberezhny.com, so let me know if you got it or not. It ended up being pretty long and that wasn't my intention. I just wanted to make sure that you got the emotional idea behind the song, which I hope I did a good job of explaining it and it doesn't come off as a long ramble, lol.

  5. I'm just posting this for the sheer awesomeness of it. (I can't help myself!) I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll do w/ everyone's songs.

Tool - Reflection (live) w/ guest rapper Tricky
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gj_fjzO5AZ0

I don't typically like rap, but this has a really cool vibe to it. Danny Carey rules... I love that "BWONG" of the drums in the beginning.

    here are the lyrics..

    ~~Reflection~~
I have come curiously close to the end, down
    Beneath my self-indulgent pitiful hole,
    Defeated, I concede and
    Move closer
    I may find comfort here
I may find peace within the emptiness
    How pitiful

    It's calling me...

And in my darkest moment, fetal and weeping
The moon tells me a secret - my confidant
As full and bright as I am
This light is not my own and
A million light reflections pass over me

Its source is bright and endless
    She resuscitates the hopeless
Without her, we are lifeless satellites drifting

And as I pull my head out I am without one doubt
Don't wanna be down here soothing my narcissism.
I must crucify the ego before it's far too late
I pray the light lifts me out
    Before I pine away.

So crucify the ego, before it's far too late
To leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical,
And you will come to find that we are all one mind
Capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable.
Just let the light touch you
And let the words spill through
And let them pass right through
Bringing out our hope and reason ...
    before we pine away.

  6. you know the song can be about anything from being under the man..
    from abuse to racism..
    and maybe even war..

It may be defined as the hatred of one person by another..

and lets face it we all are whipping boys and we all lable each other..

  11. Actually I think he’s got 8 listed (If he had much more, he'd be working on this for the rest of his life) lol. I think he should pick 2, himself too, though. :D

Geeze I've been quite demanding lately, no? lol
"Sergey, I think you should do THIS"..."photograph THIS song"..."do it like THIS"... "Yeah...like that"..."that's it...Now lick my boot...get on your knees"...
    Wait--wtf??

Just a note: never take me too seriously. Unless I'm being serious, of course, whereas then you must take me VERY seriously. ;P

  13. I recommend:

explosions in the sky- first breath after coma

    sigur ros- hoppipolla

    m83- we own the sky

    massive attack- angel

    portishead- we carry on

    a perfect circle- 3 libras

    brandon miles- voyaging nowhere

also kudos on the DCFC and John Lennon! A lot of Lennon's music on the double fantasy album is great for ambiance.
